Federal workers were expected to be back on the job yesterday while flight disruptions were expected to continue at some of the nation’s airports. Airlines are optimistic they can resume normal operations within a few days once the government lifts its order to cut flights and as air traffic controllers come back to work. Meanwhile, state officials are working to restore full SNAP benefits to millions of people after a series of court rulings and changing policies led to inconsistent distribution of November benefits. Indiana’s Family and Social Services Administration and Ohio’s Department of Jobs and Family Services said they’re working to distribute full SNAP benefits, but exact dates have not been announced.
