NWS Confirms Ratings for NE Illinois, NW Indiana Tornadoes

Ratings for this week’s tornadoes in northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana have been confirmed by the National Weather Service. The tornado that went from Kankakee, Illinois to Lake Village, Indiana was given a preliminary EF-3 rating. Another tornado near Knox, Indiana that prompted a rare Tornado Emergency was rated EF-2. Meanwhile, the NWS said there were reports of hail as large as 5 to 6 inches wide that fell in Illinois.
