Mich. Gov. Whitmer Declares State of Emergency in 7 Northern Michigan Counties After Winter Storm

A state of emergency has been declared by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer in seven counties in the northern Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula. It comes after the winter storm on Sunday and Monday dropped two to four feet of snow and ice accumulation in northern Michigan caused widespread or severe damage. Under the state of emergency, all available state resources are authorized for use in response and recovery operations.
