Indiana House and Senate Republicans Select Northeast Indiana Lawmakers to Leadership

Lawmakers from northeast Indiana were elected to leadership positions by the state’s House and Senate Republicans for the 125th General Assembly. Representative Ben Smaltz of Auburn was chosen as House speaker-elect. Senator Dr. Tyler Johnson of Leo was elected to serve as Majority Caucus Chairman. The Democratic caucus will also weigh in on the selection of Senator Chris Garten as Senate President Pro Tempore. Lawmakers will gather at the Statehouse on November 17th for Organization Day.
