Holsum Bakery Settles ADA Lawsuit11/19/2025A federal lawsuit has been settled by Fort Wayne wholesale bakery Holsum over allegations that the bakery violated the Americans with Disabilities Act. The EEOC said it centered around a policy at Holsum about personal items in a production area and an employee with a walker that was cleared by a supervisor. The employee was eventually not allowed to use the walker in the production area and forced to take medical leave, then was fired for being unable to return to work without the walker. Holsum will pay the employee $50,000, adopt or amend certain policies to be ADA compliant, and follow other requirements.
