HHS Launches Initiative to Study Vaccine Injuries10/14/2026The Department of Health and Human Services recently launched an effort to study vaccine injuries while improving patient care. That includes requiring electronic health records with vaccine injury reports, proposed reimbursement for doctors who report suspected injuries, and a new clinic at the National Institutes of Health. Although vaccines are safe and serious side effects are rare, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said it’s part of a governmental effort to take people seriously who report health issues to make vaccines safer.
