Google to Pay for Water Tower

01/16/2026

Fort Wayne Public Works officials are saying that Google will invest more than $20 million in a water tower and supporting infrastructure that will serve its data center campus and the surrounding area. Matthew Wirtz, chairman of the Board of Stormwater, said Google will also reimburse the city for engineering work already completed.  The water tower will not only serve the new Google facility but also residents in southeast Fort Wayne. The city's Board of Public Works unanimously approved the plan this week.
