FWCS Responds to ICE Rumors01/29/2026Fort Wayne Community Schools has addressed rumors going around that Immigration and Customs Enforcement is coming to its schools. FWCS released the following letter: We recognize the ongoing fear and uncertainty among many families caused by ongoing national events, particularly regarding immigration enforcement. Fort Wayne Community Schools is committed to providing a safe and welcoming learning environment for all students and families, regardless of immigration status. We recognize and value our student population and believe all students deserve the opportunity to learn without fear.There are many rumors on social media and throughout the community about expected federal immigration enforcement activities. We work closely with all state law enforcement agencies on a regular basis and have no reason to believe the rumors are true. If anything changes, we will update our staff and families immediately. No FWCS employee will assist with immigration enforcement activities in the course of their employment. There are many community partners working closely with families.
