Fort Wayne Zoo Lioness "Ina" Chronic Kidney Disease

The Fort Wayne Zoo’s lioness, Ina, has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. It’s a progressive condition that affects the kidneys’ ability to filter toxins and conserve water. The zoo says Ina’s  condition has progressed over the past few months and is approaching end-stage disease. Ina is on a treatment plan and the zoo says their team is focused on maintaining her quality of life and ensuring she remains comfortable.
