Fort Wayne Zoo Announces Birth of Sumatran Orangutan Named Raya

The Fort Wayne Zoo has announced that a female Sumatran Orangutan named Raya. Raya was born one month ago, on January 11th, to mother Tara, age 30, and father Tengku, age 39. The zoo said her birth is cause for celebration when it comes to the conservation of her critically endangered species. Raya’s milestones in the coming months will be shared on the Fort Wayne Zoo’s social media channels.
