Fort Wayne City Council to Vote in August on Resource Center

Four Fort Wayne City Council members have agreed to make a final decision about the funding for a homeless resource center in August. City Council members last week decided to delay further discussion and action on Mayor Tucker’s request to use $2.75 million - $2.1 million from Community Development and $650,000 from interest generated by federal American Rescue Plan Act dollars. Council members voted 5-3 along party lines to hold it until Sept. 1.  The funding would be used to buy the building at 333 E. Washington Blvd., near the Rescue Mission.
