Fort Wayne City Council Controversy01/15/2026There is some controversy surrounding the Fort Wayne City Council meeting from this past Tuesday. Council President Marty Bender is answering to concerns that the most recent meeting did not allow time for public comment…especially about public concerns about the Google facility currently under construction. Some of the attendees said they felt the lack of comment time violated their first amendment rights. Bender says this meeting was a special meeting to recognize outgoing city clerk Lana Keesling. The meeting was apparently not advertised as special. Normally the second and fourth Tuesday meetings are when the public is granted time to speak on issues.
