Complaint Filed Against FWCS Over School Board Seat Switch05/13/2026A decision this week that allowed Fort Wayne Community Schools Board President Noah Smith to switch seats drew criticism. Former Allen County Councilwoman Sheila Curry-Campbell filed a formal complaint with FWCS and the Indiana Department of Education. She raised transparency concerns while the district’s general counsel said it was legal.Meanwhile, FWCS is hiring for the District 3 seat with the term ending December 31, 2028. Applicants must have resided within District 3 for at least one year, be at least 21 years old and be a registered voter. A map of the precincts included in District 3 can be found at this link. Applicants employed by FWCS must be prepared to resign their employment if appointed.Written applications should address the following questions:1. A decision is anticipated to be announced June 8.
