Bird Flu Affects Geese in Hamilton County

Several cases of bird flu have been detected in Hamilton County, causing the loss of multiple geese. That’s according to the Indiana DNR. The DNR also confirmed bird flu in multiple blue-wing teal in southwestern Indiana’s Greene County. The CDC says the public health risk from bird flu is low, but you should avoid contact with sick birds and wildlife whenever possible. If you find wild birds that have passed away for no obvious reason or appear to be sick, report it online to the Indiana DNR.
