Allen Co. Residents Express Concerns Over Potential Casino During Hearing

Community members gathered last night for a public meeting in Fort Wayne hosted by Allen County Council about a potential casino. A majority of the residents who spoke were not in favor of a casino coming to Allen County, expressing concerns about possible negative societal impacts tied to gambling, like addiction, crime, trafficking, and more. County Council clarified that the vote on a casino is not up to them. Meanwhile, both pieces of casino-related legislation – House Bill 1038 and Senate Bill 70 – are still in committees in the Indiana General Assembly.
