Airport Expressway Overpass Project Approved by Fort Wayne City Council

A project to install an overpass on Airport Expressway in Fort Wayne to improve safety and traffic problems has been approved by City Council. The city was also given a $23 million federal grant that will fund most of the project. Airport Expressway would be lifted over the train tracks between Bluffton Road and Ardmore Avenue. City Engineer Patrick Zaharako said construction is expected to begin in 2028.
