SSA to Increase Payments, SSI in 202610/27/2025In case you missed it over the weekend, the Social Security Administration announced that Social Security benefits and Supplemental Security Income payments will go up 2.8% in 2026. On average, Social Security retirement benefits will increase by about $56 per month. Nearly 71 million beneficiaries will see the 2.8% cost-of-living adjustment go up in January 2026 while increased payments to 7.5 million people receiving SSI will start on December 31st.
