Report: Indiana Ranks 25th Nationally for Overall Child Well-Being02/17/2026The state of Indiana ranks 25th nationally in overall child well-being, based on the 2026 Indiana Kids Count Data Book released yesterday. A couple of Indiana’s strong points for kids are economic well-being and education, with the state ranking 11th according to the Annie E. Casey Foundation. The Indiana Youth Institute said the state is seeing meaningful gains in early literacy, stronger graduation rates, and progress in overall child well‑being.
