Ohio Gov. DeWine Vetoes Bill That Sought to Allow 14- and 15-Year-Olds Work Until 9 p.m. During School Week12/05/2025A bill in Ohio that would’ve allowed 14- and 15-year-olds to work until 9 p.m. during the school year has been vetoed by Governor Mike DeWine. Following the veto, DeWine said he believes it’s unwise to let 14- and 15-year-olds work that late at night on a school night. DeWine added that the current law has worked well and has effectively balanced the importance of 14- and 15-year-olds learning to work with the importance of them having time to study.
