Michigan Announces State of the State Art, Writing Contest Winners Ahead of Address

The winners of Michigan’s 2026 State of the State art and writing contests have been announced, with the winners’ artwork and poem to be featured in the address’ program. Brooke, a 12th grader from Bay City, won the art contest and Amelie, a 10th grader from the Detroit area, won the writing contest. Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s State of the State address is Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.
