MDOT to Remove Construction Barriers for Holiday Weekend05/22/2026Michigan travelers should find it easier to navigate the highway construction areas over the Memorial Day weekend. MDOT is moving the barrels and barriers on more than 100 road construction projects beginning at 3 this afternoon and continuing that through 6 pm on Tuesday to help traffic flow. Officials warn motorists to watch for some areas where construction equipment may still slow down traffic.
