Fort Wayne Looking for Feedback on Waynedale 2040 Plan

02/05/2026
News release from the City of Fort Wayne:

Fort Wayne, Ind. – The City of Fort Wayne invites residents to share their ideas and feedback on draft recommendations for the Waynedale 2040 Plan, a roadmap that will guide growth, redevelopment, and community priorities for years to come.

Waynedale residents are invited to attend one of the following free open houses to talk with neighborhood planners and give input on proposed priorities. There is no formal presentation, so residents can stop by at any point during the events.

  • Tuesday, February 17, 6 – 8 p.m., Allen County Public Library Waynedale Branch, 2200 Lower Huntington Rd.
  • Thursday, February 19, 5 – 7 p.m., Allen County Public Library Waynedale Branch, 2200 Lower Huntington Rd.

The open houses will wrap up community input for the Waynedale 2024 Plan, which is expected to be complete in summer 2026. It will address projects and program investment in areas such as historic preservation, economic development, housing, marketing, infrastructure, parks and recreation, transportation, connectivity, public safety, and zoning and land use.

Twenty-four neighborhood associations are included in the planning area. To see the list of neighborhoods, a map of the area, and more information about Waynedale 2040, residents may visit https://waynedaleplan.com.
