On July 23rd my brother-in-law passed away at the age of 52 of a heart attack. He leaves behind my sister and their 5 children. Two are out of the house, but three remain. They are a good, strong, Christian family and belong to a strong church family. But it's still a major life event.
I was gone from work for bereavement and one other staff was on vacation, leaving only 2 people to man the office. These two ladies go to church with my sister's family, so my brothers-in-law passing affected them as well. I returned to work on Aug 1st. and our co-worker's son was in a terrible accident that morning. He is 16, had his license for no more than a month and was in a head on accident on his way to work. He now has two broken legs, a broken pelvis, femur and a broken lower vertebra. He will be wheelchair bound after all of his surgeries are complete. He won't be able to start school.
Another co-worker learned her mom, who was diagnosed with cancer a year or so ago, will be entering hospice soon. My husband and I are leaving Thursday for a vacation that we planned a year ago - to celebrate our big birthdays. While we're happy to be going, it's hard to leave our friends and family knowing there is so much hurting going on.
Please pray for all of us at work. We're a small office of four. And God has intertwined our lives in a beautiful way. When one of us is hurting He supernaturally gives another of us the strength to be strong for the other(s).
But it's still hard. Not one of us question God or are angry with God. But every last one of us are tired and emotional and hurting.
