WSJ: U.S. Sending 200 Troops to Help Nigeria Fight Islamist Militants

Two hundred U.S. troops are going to Nigeria to help train the country’s military to fight against Islamist militants but will not be involved in direct combat. The Wall Street Journal first reported that U.S. and Nigerian officials said the troops will “help local forces use intelligence to identify targets for military strikes.” It comes as Nigeria faces pressure from the U.S. to act against Christian persecution.
