West Nile Virus in Grant County

The Indiana Department of Health has notified the Grant County Health Department that mosquito samples collected in Grant County have tested positive for West Nile virus. The department recommends taking precautions against mosquito bites to reduce the risk of disease caused by mosquito-borne viruses. State and local health officials recommend that all Hoosiers use insect repellent containing DEET. Most people infected with West Nile virus have no symptoms, but some cases could be severe.
