Water District Suggestions11/27/2024While cooking for large gatherings becomes a big part of holiday season festivities, the Northwestern Water & Sewer District reminds you to properly dispose of fats, oils, and grease. Those can cause severe damage to pipes and plumbing if not properly disposed of. To avoid these issues, the District says to: · Allow fats, oils, and grease to cool and solidify in an aluminum can, then throw it in your garbage, · Wipe off greasy pans and dishes with a paper towel before rinsing them, · Use drain strainers to catch particles and debris, · And use your garbage disposal sparingly by throwing food scraps in the trash.
