USPS Eyes Increasing Stamp Price to Nearly $1

You could pay nearly $1 to send a letter in the mail. Postmaster General David Steiner said during a congressional hearing that the U.S. Postal Service is wanting to raise the price of a stamp from 78 cents to between 90 and 95 cents. Steiner said raising the price of a stamp would help the postal service since it could run out of cash in less than a year. The postal service has been facing high costs and declining mail volume.
