Travel Advisories, Snow Emergencies for Counties in Indiana and Ohio01/27/2026This weekend's winter storm has created snowy, icy, and slick conditions across the WBCL listening area. As of 8:25 a.m. Tuesday, January 27th a Level 3 snow emergency is in effect for these Ohio counties:HancockA Level 3 snow emergency in Ohio means all municipal, township, and county roads are closed to non-emergency personnel. It is unlawful to be on the roads unless for an absolute emergency; violators may be subject to arrest. Residents are advised to contact employers regarding work attendance.A Travel Warning in Indiana is the highest level of local travel advisory and means that travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only. The Indiana DHS says during a "warning" local travel advisory, individuals are directed to:Refrain from all travel;Comply with necessary emergency measures;Cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operations plans; andObey and comply with the lawful directions of properly identified officers.Additional exceptions to the warning travel advisory are found in Indiana Code 10-14-2-29.
