Storm Recovery Efforts Continue in Hamilton County

Following major flooding across Hamilton County, the City of Carmel and emergency crews are actively managing post-flood recovery. As floodwaters recede, City teams are working around the clock to clear debris, assess structural damage and support impacted families. Public safety remains the top priority. Residents are strongly urged to stay away from flooded and impacted areas. Do not walk, drive or enter compromised zones. Unseen hazards pose severe risks.  The primary focus of current recovery operations is severe damage along Hazel Dell Parkway, south of 106th Street.  Rising floodwaters and backflow from the White River washed away materials behind the bridge abutment, creating sinkholes and causing the roadway to give way.
