Several Northwest Ohio Counties Awarded State Funding for Road Safety

Multiple counties in northwest Ohio will be receiving nearly $23 million in funding from the state to upgrade roadway safety. That includes a variety of construction projects in Allen, Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Lucas, Van Wert, and Wood counties that will take place anywhere from 2026 through 2031. It’s part of more than $97 million from ODOT that’s being awarded to communities across Ohio. A full list of northwest Ohio projects is below:


Allen County

  • Sponsor: ODOT District 1
  • Location: SR 15 & US 30
  • Description: Install median cable barrier on SR 15 in Hancock County from U.S. 68 to SR 330 and on U.S. 30 in Allen County from SR 309 to Interstate 75.
  • Phase/Year/Funding:

Defiance County

  • Sponsor: ODOT District 1
  • Location: SR 2
  • Description: Widen SR 2 from SR 249 to the Village of Hicksville corporation line so that rumble strips can be installed.

    • RW – 2028 – $500,000

    • Total: $3,732,000

Fulton County

  • Sponsor: ODOT District 2
  • Location: SR 109 & County Road D
  • Description: Construct a single-lane roundabout at County Road D in Delta.

Hancock County

  • Sponsor: ODOT District 1
  • Location: SR 15 & US 30

  • Description: Constructing a single-lane roundabout at Bradner Road in Northwood.
