Red Cross Needs Blood Donors07/14/2026The American Red Cross is asking people to consider donating blood this month after the blood supply fell nearly 25% in June. Red cross leaders say there is a critical need for donations after declaring an emergency shortage due to the fall of the blood supply across the state of Indiana. Donors of all blood types, but especially O-positive and B-negative donors, are urgently needed. The organization is sending nearly 3,500 more units of blood to hospitals each week than expected as hospitals see higher demand during the summer. Anyone who can donate is asked to make an appointment.
