ReadOhio Expands Literacy Coaches

The number of literacy coaches serving the ReadOhio region that includes northwest Ohio has more than doubled since the last school year. Nick Jacobs, the ReadOhio literacy coach coordinator for western Ohio, said the region now includes 26 coaches — up from 12 a year ago. The program serves 29 schools in his region. Of those schools, 15 are located in northwest Ohio.  ReadOhio is a top priority of Gov. Mike DeWine who says the program is focused on helping the lowest-performing schools in the state implement the science of reading.
