President Trump Takes Action on Nigeria Over Extreme Christian Persecution

The Book of Hebrews encourages us in chapter 13 verse 3 to remember “those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” A prayer request for you is for Christians in the African country of Nigeria facing extreme persecution by Islamist militants according to Christian humanitarian aid organizations. President Trump recently made Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” over violations of religious freedom and announced possible military action. It comes after numerous faith leaders and members of Congress wrote letters to Trump and introduced measures to address the persecution. The Nigerian government has repeatedly denied reports of persecution. Trump also said that aid and assistance to Nigeria would stop if the persecution continues.
