Poll Says Ohio Voters Not Influenced by High Gas Prices

Northwest Ohio residents know that gas costs have increased, but some undecided voters say prices at the pump are not likely to influence their choices at the polls this November. Regular gasoline prices in Toledo hovered at $4.01 per gallon on Wednesday, according to AAA. In Ohio, gas costs on average $4.06 per gallon, more than $1 up from the $2.89 average per-gallon price recorded before the United States-Iran conflict began. A Politico poll conducted in July found that 46 percent of Americans expected changes in gas prices to affect their votes in the midterm elections, though that group included only 23 percent of voters who did not know what party they would support.
