One of the first babies born in 2026 was born to an artist you hear on WBCL. Michael and Leah Cochren of Cochren & Co. welcomed Baby Cochren on January 1st at 1:41 a.m. That makes Baby Cochren the first one born at Deaconess Women’s Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana near Evansville. Baby Cochren weighs 8 pounds, 9.9 ounces and measures 21 inches long. The hospital said both mom and baby are healthy. Michael added that they’re both thankful and excited for their precious New Year’s blessing, and for the doctors and nurses at the hospital.
