Perrysburg, Maumee Fireworks Set for July 3

(Perrysburg, OH) - The City of Perrysburg and the City of Maumee will host the traditional Independence Day fireworks on Friday, July 3, 2026. The rain date is July 5.

Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. and last approximately 20-25 minutes. The fireworks will be launched from the green space on the west side of the Fort Meigs Memorial Bridge near Rapids Road. Traffic and parking will not be permitted on Rapids Road, and spectators will not be allowed on the bridge because it is within the designated safety zone. Access to the multi-use path from the Fort Meigs Memorial Bridge and Rapids Road will also be temporarily closed before, during and after the display.

Popular viewing locations include Fort Meigs Historic Site, Riverside Park and Orleans Park on the Perrysburg side, as well as the Towpath Trail on the Maumee side.

Traffic Details and Closures for July 3

7 a.m.

• The Fort Meigs Memorial Bridge will close to pedestrian and bike traffic. This is needed to maintain a safety zone perimeter, which includes the bridge.

  
  

Noon (in Maumee): Closures for the Uptown Maumee Music Fest

• Conant Street between Broadway and John

• 100 blocks of E. & W. Dudley

• 100 blocks of E. & W. Wayne

• The Anthony Wayne Trail at Conant Street will close to southbound traffic

7 p.m.

• The Fort Meigs Memorial Bridge and Maumee-Western Reserve Road will close to vehicle traffic. The bridge will reopen after the fireworks display is completed and the area has been cleared of debris and checked for misfired fireworks. Motorists should plan to use alternate river crossings on Interstate 475 and Interstate 75 before, during and after the display.

• Broadway Street in Maumee between Gibbs and Allen Streets will close for the fireworks. The street will reopen after the display is completed and pedestrians have cleared the area.

9:45 p.m.

• The northbound lane of Fort Meigs Road in Perrysburg will close to all traffic (except emergency vehicles) between Eckel Junction Road and West Indiana Avenue. Traffic will then be shifted to the southbound lane, which will be open to all vehicles until 11:30 p.m. During this time, traffic coming from West Indiana Avenue and Fort Meigs Historic Site will only be allowed to travel east and west along River Road, and traffic coming from the side streets along Fort Meigs Road will only be able to travel south.

11:30 p.m.

• Traffic on Fort Meigs Road will be shifted back to the northbound lane, and the southbound lane will close.

After the firework display concludes, crews will need approximately 45 minutes to clear debris and check for misfired fireworks in the launch area. Once that process is complete, the Fort Meigs Memorial Bridge, Maumee-Western Reserve Road and Rapids Road will reopen to vehicle traffic and pedestrian access to the multiuse path on Fort Meigs Memorial Bridge will also reopen.
