O'Bannon Grant Seeks Ideas01/16/2026The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is seeking input to maximize the funds earmarked for the state's primary need-based student financial aid program. The grant last year helped more than 37,000 Hoosiers pay for schooling at Indiana public and private institutions. This program represents about $168 million of $400 million in annual state student financial aid for postsecondary education and training. This marks the first time the commission is sharing the procedure used to model future grant spending, the release added. Details on submitting comments can be found on the WBCL news page. Colleges, financial aid organizations and others may submit feedback about the Frank O'Bannon grant methodology until 11:59 p.m. March 25 at tinyurl.com/5n7xzkj5, a news release said.
