No Decision Yet on Flock Camera Renewa

No decision yet as to whether the Flock Camera contract will be renewed. Fort Wayne City Council delayed a vote on funding the renewal of the city's contract for Flock license plate reader cameras, pushing a final decision to Aug. 25 while members look at adding more oversight and safeguards. Councilman Russ Jehl, R-2nd, who proposed the hold, said he spent the past several weeks meeting with constituents, civil liberties organizations and the police department after the measure was first delayed in May. Jehl said he wants council to consider amendments addressing issues such as data retention, information sharing and auditing before voting on the contract.
