New Polar Bear Brought to The Toledo Zoo

A polar bear named Kali (pronounced Cully) has been welcomed to The Toledo Zoo. Kali is from the Saint Louis Zoo on a breeding recommendation for The Toledo Zoo’s polar bear Crystal with the hope of introducing new genetics to polar bears in captivity. If successful, any cubs born would stay with their mother for about two years. The Arctic Encounter exhibit is closed for maintenance and the zoo says both bears will not be viewable until further notice.
