New FWPD Chief Smith, Mayor Tucker Address Sudden Police Leadership Change

The Fort Wayne Police Department’s new Chief, P.J. Smith, and Mayor Sharon Tucker hosted a Q&A session yesterday explaining the department’s unexpected leadership change. Mayor Tucker clarified that there’s no scandal involving former Chief Scott Caudill. Instead, Caudill will be serving as a captain overseeing policies and procedures. Smith said as chief, he wants to make sure the FWPD is fully staffed, continue initiatives already underway, and roll out the new downtown district.
