Muncie Community Schools Highlights IREAD-3 Assessment Scores

Muncie Community Schools is celebrating impressive gains in its recent IREAD-3 assessment scores. The district said Longfellow Elementary School achieved an 83.7% passing rate, which is nearly a 16% improvement over the school’s rate last year. Longfellow’s reading proficiency helped increase MCS’ passing rate nearly 7% higher than last year. The district attributed the success to Lilly Endowment, the Indiana Literacy Cadre, and a curriculum following the science of reading.
