Michigan Legislature Extends Energy Emergency Order to Allow Sale of Lower-Cost Gasoline07/02/2026Michigan lawmakers have extended an energy emergency that allows lower-cost gasoline to be sold through September 15th. Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s original order from April 2nd temporarily suspended Michigan’s gasoline vapor pressure requirements that are used during the summer. As of Thursday, July 2nd, GasBuddy and AAA show that Michigan’s average gas price is a little over $4 per gallon.
