MI Gov. Whitmer Signs Final Education Budget as Governor

Michigan’s education budget has been signed into law by Governor Gretchen Whitmer, marking her eighth and final one as governor. The fiscal year 2027 budget has historic investment in student literacy with $502 million allocated toward literacy curriculum, teacher training, school programs, and more. The budget also has historic investments in public schools as well as free school meals and free pre-K for all.
