IU Health Hiring Nurses for News Hospital08/17/2026With less than a year until the opening of the new IU Health Fort Wayne Hospital, IU Health leaders say they are beginning the process of staffing the new facility. IU is currently looking to hire 270 nurses for the ICU, PCU, med-surg, cath lab and the emergency department. The healthcare network says that they emphasize professional development among their nurses, as well as building strong research skills. IU Health will begin hiring for more positions in the coming months as opening day approaches. The new hospital is scheduled to open May 1st of 2027.
