ISP Trooper Helps Deliver Baby on Interstate 69 Near Auburn09/02/2026An Indiana State Police trooper’s fast response helped a baby get delivered on Interstate 69 near Auburn Sunday morning. Trooper Sam Waterhouse pulled over a vehicle going at a high speed with the mother in labor. Waterhouse retrieved his medical kit, and the father was already delivering the baby when Waterhouse returned. An emergency medical team took the family to a hospital for further care. The Indiana State Police did not release the names for privacy reasons.
