Indiana to End EMS Diversion to Other Hospitals for Overcrowding

Indiana state health officials have announced that Indiana will end the practice of sending emergency medical services to other hospitals due to overcrowding in the hospital. That would make Indiana only the third state in the nation to end the practice, which was often used as a temporary measure to alleviate crowding. Health officials say diversion will now be restricted to only cases of disaster and critical infrastructure failure starting in September.
