Ice Skating Season to Kick Off at Toledo's Ottawa Park

TOLEDO, OH – Catch the holiday spirit at the City of Toledo’s annual holiday tree lighting and winter festival in Ottawa Park, located at 2015 Parkside Drive, on Sunday, December 8, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz will turn on the holiday tree lights at 6:30 p.m., marking the highlight of the evening.

Join us for this festive, family-friendly event featuring free ice skating (weather permitting), arts & crafts, cookie decorating, and a variety of musical performances. In the true spirit of holiday giving, we invite attendees to bring non-expired, non-perishable food items to support the Monroe Street Neighborhood Center and Grace Community Center food pantries.
 

Holiday Activities:

  • Free Ice Skating: 3:00–4:30 p.m. & 4:45–6:15 p.m.
  • Visit with Santa, Elsa, The Grinch, and Cinderella: 4:00–7:00 p.m.
  • Toledo Fire and Rescue Demo Truck: 5:00–7:00 p.m.
  • Activities for All Ages:
    • Ornament Making Station
    • Cookie Decorating
    • Ice Carving Demonstration
    • Face Painting
    • Read for Literacy Book Giveaway
    • Santa’s Workshop: Create and donate a craft or ornament for a community member as part of our Kindness Initiative

  • 3:15–3:30 p.m. – Notre Dame Academy Women's Chorus
  • 3:30–4:00 p.m. – Waite High School Show Choir
  • 4:10–4:20 p.m. – Sing-along with Elsa, the Grinch, and Cinderella
  • 4:30–5:00 p.m. – The Glow Foundation Choir
  • 5:10–5:25 p.m. – Scott High School Choir
  • 5:30–6:00 p.m. – F.A.M.E.D. Studios
  • 6:10–6:20 p.m. – Toledo Rep Dickens Singers
  • 6:30–7:00 p.m. – My5tery Music Drumline, Step Team, and Choir

Snacks & Treats: Enjoy complimentary s’mores, popcorn, and hot chocolate! Pizza will be available for purchase by the slice. (Items are available while supplies last.)

Non-Perishable Food Drive: We’re collecting items such as boxed pasta, rice, canned vegetables, and other non-expired goods. Let’s spread the joy by supporting our local food pantries!
