Google to Pay for Pipe Repairs

After more than a month of debate, Fort Wayne will not pay for utility work near the Google data center site after the internet company agreed to cover the cost. On December 9th Council members decided to hold the request for almost $200,000 for a drainage repair at 6015 Adams Center Road because members wanted to give the public a chance to speak at a community forum that week. Underground piping in the area where Google planned to expand the road needed emergency repair. The original proposal asked the city to fund the piping repair, while Google would have paid for the expansion.
