Google Data Center Forum12/12/2025Many of the attendees say the public forum at Grand Wayne Convention Center did little to satisfy opponents of Google's new local data center. Many of the estimated 200 attendees left the Thursday evening informational session expressing frustration about the relatively little time allowed for questions and answers. Of the 90 minutes scheduled, the last 25 were designated for answering questions. Ashley Savieo of I&M told residents that Google will pay its fair share for electricity and residential bills won't increase as a result of the data center. Matthew Wirtz of City Utilities assured attendees that Fort Wayne's water supply is more than enough to serve Google and existing customers. Many Critics are expressing concerns about air pollution and energy and water usage.
