Gas Prices Reach $5 Per Gallon Throughout IN, OH, MI

Gas prices have spiked across Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan since yesterday, with prices reaching $5 per gallon. GasBuddy and AAA show the national average at $4.30 per gallon, making it the highest since July 2022. In a series of posts on X, GasBuddy's Head of Petroleum Analysis Patrick De Haan said the spike in fuel prices is due to the continued blockade in Iran’s Strait of Hormuz causing oil prices to surge as well as refinery issues across the Great Lakes.
